1986 Entered the life insurance business in San Francisco
1987 – 1988 Received his Chartered Life Underwriting (CLU) and Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC) degrees
1990 Entered the securities field as a regional specialist for a major mutual fund
1995 Began Helms Benefits Company, specializing in employee benefits
2000 Affiliated Helm’s Benefits with the Stahlschmidt Financial Group (SFG)

Primary client emphasis is working with small to medium size companies, providing a wide range of employer/employee benefits

John lives in Lafayette and his hobbies include travel, golf and reading
